设计, 优化, 评价, 和 Redesign (DOER) Center was founded in 2006 to draw upon the diverse knowledge of the 工程学院 to benefit local industry 和 to foster engagement in the community.  DOER中心 matches industry partners with expert faculty 和 students in short- to medium-term contracts in the furtherance of the 工程学院’s 教育的使命

DOER中心 serves as an industry consulting service for the 工程学院 at GVSU.  It is distinct from the 工程学院’s 合作项目, which places undergraduate engineering students in companies, 和 the 高级项目, which engages 3 to 6 engineering seniors in a two-semester industry-sponsored capstone project.  This service provides an avenue to directly engage expert faculty 和 students in projects of varying length, 时间表, 预算, 和努力程度.

Some of the services the 实干家中心 can provide are:

  • Design consultation services
  • 过程控制
  • 实验设计
  • Failure Mode Effect Analysis
  • 建议 Preparation 和 Review
  • Short-Courses for 行业 合作伙伴.

为什么实干家?

DOER中心 matches clients with a team of faculty 和 students who apply their knowledge to solve advanced industrial problems.  Students involved in the DOER center gain experience in product development 和 applied research while clients enjoy top-quality, highly supervised support at a negotiated low university rate.  In addition to helping prepare the next generation of 工程师 by providing real-world learning experiences, your business will enjoy valuable 和 tangible benefits, 包括:

  • An academic partner who can help you seek government funding for innovative projects. (接触实干家 to see if your project qualifies for state matching funds).
  • The ability to flex uncommon skills in 和 out of projects.
  • Retention of all 知识产权 affiliated with the project.
