Young 校友 Council Application

Thank you for your interest in joining the Young 校友 Council (YAC)! The Young 校友 Council exists to develop and strengthen connections between young alumni, Grand Valley 状态 University, and the greater alumni community. The Council also advises 校友 Relations on ways to support the needs and advance the interests of recent graduates.

Prior to completing your application, please review the Application and Selection Process and Candidate Selection and Eligibility information on this page as well as the YAC Member Expectations page.

Applications may be submitted using the form below and are due by June 10, 2024 to be considered for the coming year (July 2024 - June 2025). Applications submitted after the deadline will be considered for the following term year.

Young 校友 Council Member Expectations

Application and Selection Process

  • Applications must be submitted by June 10, 2024 to be considered for the following year (July 2024 - June 2025).
  • After the application deadline passes, the YAC interview committee will review all applications and select candidates for interviews.
  • Interviews will take place via Zoom in mid to late June (days subject to change). Applicants selected for interviews will be notified via email and will receive a link to schedule their interview time.
  • Applicants will be notified of their selection in early July via email and will be asked to complete a form accepting their seat on the YAC.
  • The first YAC meeting of the year will be held in August.

Candidate Selection and Eligibility

  • Applicants must have graduated from Grand Valley 状态 University (GVSU) within the past 10 years.
  • Applicants may not be employed by GVSU in any full or part-time capacity.
  • The YAC seeks to create balance and diversity in skills, experiences, education and work backgrounds. Selection criteria is also based upon past leadership roles, unique skills brought to the YAC, involvement while as a GVSU student, involvement as an alum, and enthusiasm for the work of the YAC.
  • All YAC members will be required to follow the membership expectations and bylaws.
